As one of the premier cities of the world, New York stands as a cultural, commercial, educational and financial center that deeply shapes how we understand the world and our place in it. New York City Christian Union (NYCU) is committed to helping Christians engage in their vocations and in the networks of the city as part of the redemptive role of the church. We are also committed to making the Gospel clear in word and deed to those of this city and beyond.

Bible Courses

Please pray for those engaged in NYCU Bible Courses throughout the city. These groups of men and women meet weekly to study the scriptures, encourage each other, develop ways to engage the city, and build networks.

Forums and Salons

NYCU hosts events designed to develop broad themes of Christian leadership and strengthen the intellectual and supernatural dimensions of our Christian faith. The January 2014 forum will be on the theme of justice, with former Attorney General Ed Meese speaking. Please pray for those attending to understand how the church can deepen its understanding of, and involvement in, issues of justice.

Transition of Recent Grads

Each year the university ministries of Christian Union graduate students to enter the marketplace. This is a significant event for most college students as they leave academic life and seek a vocation. NYCU helps those moving to New York to find a church and community group. We also help them in knowing how to understand the implications of faith and work.

This time of transition can be both difficult and thrilling – and we pray for them to pursue this with faithfulness and humility. Please also pray for them to find communities of faith where they land and to engage their vocation well.
