Dear HCFA friends and family,

With commencement approaching and the last days of finals in progress, campus is alive with the excitement of another year finishing. Although students are heading literally all over the world for summer programs and internships, much of our attention has turned to our graduating seniors as they prepare for graduation.

Our final DOXA of every spring is specifically dedicated to the seniors as we begin to say good-bye to them and send them away from Harvard. This year we had about 50 seniors turn out for one last DOXA. Don Weiss spoke on building ones foundation on the rock, who is our Lord Jesus, and when we do that, we can face any storm that may come our way. Fortunately, we also have a senior retreat in Lake George, NY where we will be able to discuss what it looks like to move on and serve in local churches around the world, remember the time they spent at Harvard with HCFA and celebrate what the Lord has done. As of now we will be taking 55 seniors (I believe our largest senior retreat ever) and are excited to have one last retreat with these wonderful students. Please pray for our seniors as they begin this major life transition out of college. Pray for sweet time with friends, for continued dependence and trust in the Lord, and that the Lord would prepare places for them to continue to grow in community and their love of Him.

After commencement, HCFA will begin our summer programs—a summer reading project for students who are not on campus, and a Bible course on Revelation for students who are at Harvard for the summer. The summer reading project is led by a few volunteer students and they will be reading through two books: United by Faith: The Multiracial Congregation as an Answer to the Problem of Race and Divided by Faith: Evangelical Religion and the Problem of Race in America. As you can probably tell by the titles, we are focusing in on issues of race in our country and within the evangelical church. We are very excited about this opportunity to engage students in such an important discussion and to think through race through a biblical and theological perspective. Please pray for fruitful discussion and that students would be challenged in how they think about race as Christians. The on-campus Bible course will work through the book of Revelation, which is sure to be an interesting study. Please pray that students grow in their knowledge of the word and that new friendships may be formed over the summer.

Finally, we are sad to share that our ministry fellow Brandon Brooks will be leaving HCFA in June. Brandon has served with us for two years and has been a Christ-like leader for the men of HCFA. We are going to deeply miss his presence on staff. Please pray for Brandon and his wife Justine as they transition away. Pray that the Lord would lead them clearly as they discern where they will move in June. Please also be in prayer as Christian Union interviews potential replacements. Pray that the Lord would provide the right person to come and serve at Harvard with us next year!
Thank you for your love and encouragement.

In Christ,
